Festival de Pâques d'Aix-en-Provence, 10 years of emotion
The Easter Festival, the flagship event of the year in the Pays d'Aix region, celebrates its 10th anniversary with an exceptional program. From March 31 to April 16, an anthology of concerts by leading classical artists awaits you.
“10 years for a festival is already adulthood: we've seen it grow, edition after edition, from 16 concerts to 33, from 6,000 spectators to nearly 30,000, from 400 artists to over 1,000...
It's a great moment of communion that has seen Aix and the Grand Théâtre de Provence take their place in the European musical landscape.
We are proud to say that the young festival created in 2013 with the support of the CIC has come of age ten years later. Thoughtful, generous, reaching out to audiences who are prevented from attending, breaking new ground with its decentralized concerts, always welcoming young artists as part of the Génération @Aix programs, the Easter Festival makes it a point of honor to ensure that the level of interpretation is more and more astonishing every year.
In 10 years, we've welcomed the world's greatest performers, from Yo-Yo Ma to Daniel Barenboim, from Martha Argerich to Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the greatest ensembles, from the Dresden Staatskapelle to the London Symphony Orchestra. We've experienced extraordinary stories, great moments of grace and immense emotion.
The 10th anniversary edition will of course be an opportunity to listen to some of the most sought-after international orchestras and soloists, but also to reunite, for three exceptional concerts, with all the musicians revealed by Génération @Aix since 2013.
A very happy anniversary and long life to the Festival de Pâques d'Aix-enProvence!”
